Years ago, I am already familiar with this red bricked structure but never knew this is an old train station until someone from a social media group mentioned about this. The Meycauayan Old Train Station was a part of the Manila-Dagupan Railroad, the first rail line in the country. The construction of the rail line started at 1887 and was finished at 1892. There were many stations that constituted the Manila-Dagupan Railroad, Tutuban being the first and Dagupan being the last. The Meycauayan Station served as the first station for the railroad system in the province of Bulacan. The Old Train Station serves as a mute witness of the journeys, transactions, or perhaps significant historical events occurred almost or a century ago. I went here to take pictures after my short journey to Bocaue. As I began taking pictures, a kuya told me that the view of the other side of the station is much nicer. As soon as I continue taking shots of the place, I was instructed by the men who is sitting beside the station to ask permission to the guard on duty to take pictures. A lolo told me that he was able to witness the operation of the railroad during his youth. It served as a hub of economic opportunities for the community as many were selling food and various items for the travelers during the time of the operation of the railroad. At this present, the station stands lone and still. Its significance, during the past many years, seems to be forgotten already. The structure itself still stands beautiful but considering its present condition, it needs to be aided. The Meycauayan Old Train Station has the great potential to become an official heritage site of the municipality. The Meycauayan Old Train Station is located in front of the St. Mary's College along McArthur hi-way, Meycauayan.
The landmarks nearby are Aliw-Complex and 7-Eleven. Reminders: -The Meycauayan Old Train Station is always guarded. You would have to ask permission to the guard-on-duty if you would like to take pictures. If you are lucky, you could be able to go inside the station though it is already highly discouraged since the structure itself is already in frail condition.

Nice blog.. Sana mapansin din ng City government its one of the great historical landmarks that the City of Meycauayan has.

Hi Chad! Yes I agree with you. The City government can learn from San Fernando Pampanga wherein they were able to preserve he old train station and is already an official historical landmark.

I may not understand the art of those old train stations but I am certain that they speak of a history, so they have their own value to be held.

Great shots. I'm from Meycauayan; though we (our family) transferred from Caloocan from the 80's to this City, Meyc has been a special place to us. I wished it could be preserved.

true Rebecca, a huge potential to be the best heritage site in Meycauayan apart from the St. Francis Assisi Church. Perhaps they should follow what Malolos and San Fernando, Pampanga has done. They were able to restore their respective old train stations.

Sir, thank you for sharing this, nainspire talaga ko gumawa ng time-travel short story. haha! God bless!

I remember that train station when I watched the Death March episode of i-Witness. Katulad sa ibang station napabayaan na din. Yun iba kinalakal na yun mga bakal na nasa structure. Yun iba ginawang mga poste. Napabayaan na talaga. Nakakahinayang, it's now just part of a history na di lahat ng nakakakita alam ano pinagdaanan ng structure na yan.

Di lang şkasi sya train station dati, if my memory serves me well, dyan dati nakatira si "mang berting". Kilala sya sa meycauayan na magaling na "manghihilot". Tuwing napipilayan ako noon, dyan ako dinadala ng lola ko. That train station was part of my childhood memories. Sana marestore man lang sya..

We might be friends during the old times. this station had witnessed my youth. we resided at lgp apt way back in 90's. So happy and proud that i had seen the train on its most beautiful condition and still functional way back then.

I had witnessed this station on its better condition. I remember an old movie 'ultimatum' had filmed there starring eddie garcia and dina bonnevie. I had a wonderful youth making the station facade as our playground. Too bad that it was not been preserved and wrecked by time. Hope that government will consider to restore this site. Its indeed a part of history. even kara david had mentioned this place on one of her documentary.

My mom used to live there when she was a kid. Her lolo was the station chief I think during the early 50's. She told us many interesting stories about the place during that time
